The City's budget is comprised of several funds. The general fund is responsible for providing public safety, parks & recreation, streets, and general administration. Combined utility funds include electric, water, sewer, and sanitation. The voter approved sales tax funds most of the City's capital improvements; such as street projects and panel replacements, the new library, park & rec. improvements, and police vehicles. This helps to keep the City's mill levy so low. The City is proud to announce that due to the growth of our community, we were able to decrease the mill levy to its lowest level in over 20 years. This is a great accomplishment, especially when other City's are increasing property taxes or cutting services to citizens.
