Fire Chief's Message

The South Sioux City Fire Department is a Combination Type, All-Hazard, professional fire department that has 3-shifts, staffed 24-hour per day with full-time firefighters that are supplemented by Part-Time and Volunteers. This staff is dedicated to serving the citizens of South Sioux City and surrounding areas, with state-of-the-art advanced life support care and transport along with quality fire protection.  All 3-shifts of the South Sioux Fire Department have a complement of firefighters who are all emergency medical technicians and paramedics. 

It an honor and privilege to serve the men and women of the South Sioux City Fire Department.  I bring over 38 years of experience in EMS and the fire service.  In my opinion, there is no better way to service a community than as a first responder.  My top priority is the safety of the frontline responders to ensure that they are well trained and equipped to handle all emergencies that they are called to and provide the best medical care and fire protection possible.

The staff of the South Sioux City Fire Department recognizes the importance of providing exceptional customer service.  This emphasis on customer service builds relationships, partnerships and the trust that is needed for the fire department to continue to grow and provide better services to the citizens we serve.

The number one goal of the South Sioux City Fire Department is to serve our great community with honor, compassion, integrity and respect, all while building and maintaining a safe community, so that families and friends can come together to enjoy fellowship with each other safely.  The South Sioux City Fire Department will stand guard over these relationships and quickly respond in your time of need to prevent loss of life and property.
